DBA opens new National & Global Distribution Centre

Home / Latest News / DBA opens new National & Global Distribution Centre
    New DBA Warehouse

After more than 30 years of dedicated service from its NSW-based headquarters, DBA has embarked on a significant transition that underscores its commitment to growth and operational excellence. The brand, renowned for its superior braking solutions, is shifting its National Distribution Centre from Silverwater, NSW to Truganina, VIC. This strategic move marks a pivotal moment in DBA’s evolution, driven by its expanding product lineup and its commitment to customer service.

Founded nearly 50 years ago, DBA has established itself as a leading name in braking solutions, continually enhancing its offerings to meet the demands of an evolving market. With its commitment of being ‘first to market’, the recent introduction of additional product lines, and consistent domestic and international sales growth comes the challenge of escalating resource constraints. The Silverwater HQ and National Distribution Centre, DBA’s home for the past 30 years, has reached its capacity, necessitating a revised strategy embracing best practice.

DBA’s parent company Amotiv Limited, has supported the best practice growth strategy resulting in the announcement of a new National Distribution Centre, which delivers an impressive 11,500 square metres of warehouse space – a sprawling area equivalent to 1.5 football fields. Within this state-of-the-art facility, located in the suburb of Truganina, Victoria, DBA will now have capacity for over 3,000 pallets and will occupy over 10,000 individual pick-face locations.

The new warehouse is equipped with best practice logistics technology and integrates its ERP system with RF picking and paperless RF guns, thus streamlining operations and boosting efficiency. By reducing processing times and ensuring seamless order delivery, this new investment will position DBA to meet the reactive demands of the automotive industry the new setup will enhance overall productivity and customer experience.

The move will also allow DBA to turn the existing warehouse space in Silverwater into a state distribution centre – the largest of eight around Australia and New Zealand – enabling a better service performance for its many NSW customers.

As Dominic Owen, Manager of health and safety at DBA, remarks “The new facility is a milestone in the development and execution of the business growth strategy of DBA and enables us to service the needs of our national and international customers through modern strategy, brand-new infrastructure and best-practice processes.”

As the business embraces this new chapter, it remains committed to its core values of innovation and excellence. The move to Truganina represents more than just a logistical adjustment; it’s a testament to DBA’s ongoing dedication to meeting the needs of its customers and advancing its industry leadership.
